Bernd Lehrack.
Everything I built in computing over the decades — all that software — vanishes into the empty virtual space within a few years. After a relatively short time there is nothing left to see; there was never anything to hold in your hand; and who wants to read outdated source code anyway? What will my children and grandchildren be left with from me, later on?
Memories are lovely, but they don’t trigger emotions as intensely as the present does. Composed — or painted — pictures come much closer to the feeling of a present-day experience than pure memory ever does. So in 2014 I decided to begin teaching myself to paint.
„Painting has pulled me into an indescribable whirlpool of joy that I no longer wish to leave."
— Bernd Lehrack
